Swansea City will assess the injury to Mike van der Hoorn as they prepare for tough-looking fixtures at home to Fulham on Friday and then away to West Brom.
The Swansea centre-back – arguably the team’s most important player – went off with a shin injury after what manager Steve Cooper described as a “contentious” tackle by Fraizer Campbell during Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Huddersfield.
Van der Hoorn needed treatment after the challenge and did not re-appear for the second-half. He was replaced by Ben Cabango, who came on for his league debut and gave an assured performance as the Swans held on for a point.
Cooper said: “It is too early to say on Mike. It was a contentious tackle, we had a respectful discussion between the two benches about what it should have been,” added Cooper.
“It did not go our way, and he did not come out for the second half.”
The tackle on van der Hoorn only resulted in a yellow card for Campbell – when it appeared an obvious straight red.

Referee Jarred Gillett was the target of boos at the end of each half in a feisty encounter and was later criticised by both Cooper and Huddersfield manager Danny Cowley.
He did send off Huddersfield’s Trevoh Chalobah four minutes from time after for head-butting George Byers in an angry reaction to a tackle by the Swansea midfielder.
The Terriers had been pushing for a winner at the time, with Karlan Grant having earlier cancelled out Jay Fulton’s 18th-minute opener.
But choosing his words carefully, Cooper added: “I thought it could have been a really good football match tonight, but I just think it didn’t get going because of some interesting decisions for both teams.
“Apart from the absolute clear red card that was given, I think me and Danny will both feel aggrieved by some decisions. I think we can both feel a bit hard done by.
“It became about being combative and winning first balls and second balls and the game just played out then.”
Cowley said: “It was a difficult game for the referee, but I thought it was a really indifferent performance from him.
“As a consequence of that it became a little bit niggly and that’s a shame.”
The draw leaves the Swans in danger of dropping out of the play-off places if results go against them on Wednesday evening.
