Top level darts returns to Cardiff on Thursday night with fans’ fingers crossed for a showdown between Gerwyn ‘The Iceman’ Price and Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler.

Darts chiefs have defended their decision to include Gerwyn Price in the Premier League Darts – even though he has fallen to No.10 in the world. Price has been confirmed as one of the eight competitors for the 2025 Premier League Darts – an invitational event, loosely based around the world rankings.

Wales’ former champion Gerwyn Price survived a spirited comeback from Joe Cullen to secure his place in the fourth round of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship in a dramatic contest at Alexandra Palace. The win also set up an all-Welsh clash against his World Cup teammate Jonny Clayton.

Former world champion Gerwyn Price blitzed past Keane Barry 3-0 to secure his place in the third round of the World Darts Championship – and fellow Welshman Robert Owen secured his first win on the biggest stage as he dispatched Niels Zonneveld 3-1 in their first-round contest. But James Wade crashed out at the first hurdle against Jermaine Wattimena.

Jonny Clayton returned to winning ways with an outstanding 8-5 success against Wesley Plaisier in Wednesday’s Players Championship 14 final in Milton Keynes, as Luke Littler made another early exit. Clayton stormed to victory on a thrilling day of action at the Marshall Arena, denying an in-form Plaisier to clinch his first PDC ranking title since May 2023.

Gerwyn Price was just edged out, 8-7, by Rob Cross in a thrilling encounter at the US Darts Masters in New York City. Cross did not hold a lead at any stage of the final – as Price dominated – until the decisive leg.
