Merthyr Town’s Southern League Premier Opponents Revealed

Merthyr Town will play six newcomers in EvoStik Southern League Premier football next season. Merthyr Town will play six newcomers in EvoStik Southern League Premier football next season.

Bishop’s Stortford and Gosport Borough, relegated from National League South, join the Martyrs along with all four of the promotion winners from Division One Central plus South & West.

Respective champions Royston Town and Hereford FC are joined by play-off winners Farnborough and Tiverton Town.

Division champions Chippenham Town are preparing for life in National League South next season, but play-off winners Leamington FC have been placed in National League North.

Merthyr have now arranged six pre-season fixtures for July and August.

They are against:

July

Tuesday 11 v Abergavenny Town (A, 7.30pm)

Saturday 15: Cambrian & Clydach Vale (A, 1.30pm)

Wednesday 19: Newport County (H, 7.30pm)

Tuesday 25: Penybont (A, kick-off TBC).

Saturday 29: Cardiff Met University (A, kick-off TBC)

August

Saturday 5 Hednesford Town (H, kick-off TBC)

The Martyrs have early bird season tickets for 2017-18 on sale now.

Manager Gavin Williams has committed to the club, who are intent on pushing for promotion again.

From now until July 1 Merthyr Town have put a price freeze on adult and senior season tickets with junior season tickets priced at £10. Adult tickets remain at £150, senior tickets £125 and will both come with a free junior season ticket upon request.

After July 1, adult season tickets will cost £175 while senior season tickets will cost £150, junior tickets will stay at £1
