Swansea City have been warned that Manchester City will be noisy dressing room neighbours if they win at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Premier League leaders can leave the Swans anchored to the bottom of the table if they achieve a record 15th successive victory.
Win No.14 came against Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday, where the match was overshadowed by the row over City’s post-match celebrations.
But City manager Pep Guardiola has promised his team will again be loud and proud if they overcome Paul Clement’s side.
Spaniard Guardiola said: “I encourage the players to celebrate the victories, but of course inside the locker room.
“We have huge respect for our opponents – not just for Manchester United, all the opponents.
“When we lose you have to accept the defeat, when we win we try to celebrate.”
“We won a derby against Manchester United, at the moment the biggest rival. We have to win it.
“So people expect we are not going to celebrate? No. We celebrate. When United win a derby they celebrate, when Arsenal win against United they celebrate. When United or Arsenal win the FA Cup they celebrate. But where? Inside the locker room. That’s what we do and we did.”
City’s players are understood to have been celebrating raucously and playing loud music but Guardiola insists that is nothing out of the ordinary.
It is claimed the trouble started as United manager Jose Mourinho walked past the City dressing room on his way to conduct post-match interviews.
Guardiola said: “The situation at Old Trafford when you go to the home locker room you have to pass the away one, but we were inside celebrating.
“But that is normal, it wasn’t anything exceptional.”
Clement has compared the current Manchester City side to Guardiola’s quadruple-winning Barcelona team.
“I’ve been very interested in the way he’s done things with his teams, especially over the Barcelona years,” he said.
“What you can see in his second year at Man City is that his team are now much more like Barcelona.
“He had four trophies in his first year, that just shows the level he was able to achieve, and that was down to both his ability and of course the quality of player he has at his disposal.”
“He has very specific beliefs and a style, and he’s turned it into a winning formula.
“A lot of people doubted whether he could take that football into the high-paced, intense nature of the Premier League, but he’s showing at the moment it’s working here as well.”
