Both players have expressed their motivation is to lift spirits amongst the players currently at the foot of League Two and do their bit to improve the club’s form.
It's seven years since Newport managed their Great Escape under former manager Michael Flynn, but their new recruits are deterimned to inspire a sequel.
Crole, a prolific striker who joins from JD Cymru Premier side Penybont FC, said: “It'll definitely be a step up. I've only had a couple of sessions to kind of suss things out.”
“I haven't played a game yet. There'll be a big step-up for a couple of weeks and once I just get used to everything, I should be okay.”
With County currently sitting 92nd out of 92 clubs in the Football League - but only two points from safety - the Welsh striker spoke of the still optimistic mood of the players and the atmosphere around the club.
“I don't think the feeling around the place is that we're at the bottom. Everyone's quite upbeat. The way the manager wants us to play, the kind of ambitions for the rest of the season, I don't think anyone really sees us being in the bottom two.
“The way we're playing and the way we've been training is impressive. The quality of the training is really good.
"Everyone trains 100%. The feeling around the place is really good. It's not the feeling of a club that's bottom of the league at all.”

The club have also recruited Cardiff City youngster Nyakuhwa, who moves to Rodney Parade on loan until the end of the season, as well as Swindon Town defender Ryan Delaney, who rejoins the club he left two years ago, again, on loan for the remainder of the season.
Welsh winger Nyakuhwa has been at the Bluebirds since the age of seven, but has now swapped blue for amber, joining a side that he is both familiar with and local to.
He told Dragon Sports: "The biggest attraction to this club is the opportunity to play games.
"I had a chat with the gaffer, his plans for me, what he expects of me and from his team, where he sees the team being in the next few months, and so I think that game time was a massive factor for me coming here."

With the club bottom of the league, Nyakuhwa shared more of his reasoning for temporarily leaving high flying Cardiff in League One.
He continued: “It's local; it's my hometown, which was a nice feeling, that your hometown wants you.
"I'd love to help the club, so if I can help the club get out of their little situation we're in at the moment, then I'd be happy with that, and if I can contribute with goals and assists, then even better.”
Newport manager Christian Fuchs is also feeling positive about his latest additions, including the loan signing of Delaney.
The Austrian told Dragon Sports: “Ryan is somebody in the back who is very vocal, who has a history with the club already, so he was very excited when things happened and when everything went through that he could come back to Newport and be a part of it.”
“Tan really enjoys playing. When I asked him, what do you think is your super strength?, and he said, ‘scoring goals and assists.’ Well that's what we want.
"That's exactly why we signed him. You see out there in the final third or with his flair when he has the ball, he can be a threat. He can be really good for us for the rest of the season.”
“With James, I'm very impressed with his physicality, despite him being a pretty young player and how he's just caring for himself.
"He's never satisfied until the ball is in the net, and that's the hunger that we need up front.”
With County’s next test against Gillingham away this weekend, all eyes will be on Fuchs’ starting XI to see if any of the new signings feature, and to see if the club can get themselves off the bottom of the table.
