Jay Fulton insists Swansea City can start to reel in the clubs above them in the Championship to make the play-offs – starting tonight at Fulham.

The Swansea midfielder was a scorer in the club’s 3-1 victory at home to Huddersfield last weekend, which went some way to making amends for the poor run of form which had preceded it.

The Swans took just three points from five winless games, but the inconsistency of the clubs above them means they go to west London still only five points adrift of the top six with a game in hand.

“It’s a huge week, we can only take each game as it comes and put in performances that hopefully get the results they deserve. We’ll see where that takes us,” said Fulton ahead of the trips to Fulham and Blackburn.

“These weeks are massive, if you can pick up good points in these three game weeks, then it can push you right up the table. We’ll look to build and get a few more good results this week.

“You look at the three games we had last week and somehow we were still only five points off the play-offs. Anything can happen in this league so we need to keep pushing.

“A lot of teams are lacking that consistency at the moment so if a team can find that like we did with those six games at the start of the season, then we’ll push ourselves right in there.”

Fulham have taken just two points from their last three games but can kick-start their own promotion push by winning at Craven Cottage.

Their talisman, Aleksandar Mitrovic, has maintained high standards, scoring in four of his last five appearances, and will be the obvious threat to Steve Cooper’s side who have gone six games since their last away victory.

Aldo Kalulu is fit to start again after a man of the match performance against Huddersfield on his first league outing in four months, while Nathan Dyer has a 50 percent chance of featuring in the squad with a minor knee issue.

Kalulu said: “I hope I will play on Wednesday, but this depends on the coach. I’m here and I’m fit now and I’m hungry for more.

“I showed the coach and staff I can help the team and bring something else, maybe a different profile from the other players.

“I’m a new player competitor within the squad and I think I made some points with this performance.

“Maybe I have a little of what Dan James gave the team last year. The coach wants me to get in behind the defence and disturb their defence and I think I made it difficult for them against Huddersfield so I’m happy.”
