The Welsh Commonwealth Games star smashed the Welsh record for the distance and became the sixth fastest British woman of all time at the Valencia Marathon in Spain on Sunday. The 19-year-old Team Wales Commonwealth Games star smashed his own personal best when he won the 50m freestyle at the 2022 Swim England Winter Championships on Friday night. Richards – Olympic Gold medal winner last year in the men’s 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay in Tokyo – won his 50m sprint event, with Welsh star Medi Harris also taking gold in the women’s 50m backstroke.
New Commonwealth Games Wales chief executive Rebecca Edwards-Symmons says she is keen to build on the legacy of predecessor Chris Jenkins. Edwards-Symmons – a former head of commercial at Swansea City – has been appointed chief executive following the retirement of Chris Jenkins after Birmingham 2022.
