Wrexham turn from the FA Cup to an FA Trophy challenge against Boston United at the Racecourse this afternoon.
The Dragons are keen to wipe away memories of their 4-0 cup defeat against Newport County in midweek by earning a convincing win against Vanarama National League North club Boston.
Former Trophy winners Wrexham are focused on maintaining their challenge for promotion to the Football League, but how they would love a good run.
This is the Pilgrims’ first visit to Wrexham since May 2007 when they suffered relegation from the Football League at the hands of the Red Dragons.
Craig Elliott’s Boston were 5-0 victors over Ashton United in the last round, with Max Wright and Nicky Walker both on target twice for the Pilgrims.
Wrexham, under caretaker manager Graham Barrow, could field former Boston players Christian Dibble and Shaun Pearson.
Goalkeeper Dibble could be given his first start in the tie, having been back-up to Rob Lainton in every match so far.
Dibble will be keen to get on to the Racecourse pitch and this could be his opportunity against his former club.
Barrow will make other changes, while youth players Matt Sargent, Jack Thorn and Bobby Beaumont are likely to be in the match day squad.
Wrexham defender Kevin Roberts remains sidelined for today’s game, while Manny Smith is struggling with a slight knock.
Luke Young starts a three-match lay-off following his straight red at Newport on Tuesday.
Wrexham’s postponed Vanarama National League fixture against Bromley has been rearranged for early January.
The match has now been rescheduled and will take place on Tuesday, January 8 (7.45pm).
