The Dragons boss was upbeat after an eight-game unbeaten streak was extended with a dramatic 1–1 draw against Blackburn Rovers.
Parkinson believes his squad have made rapid strides in recent months, stressing that the team’s frustration at not taking all three points is proof of new standards being set in the second tier.
"I think it'll be mixed emotions," said Parkinson.
"We're pleased with the run we're on, we'd love for it to have been three points but sometimes you've got to accept that the positives of the day were that the new lads have come in and had a great taste of us going to the end in games.
“Time and time again here (at the Stok Cae Ras) we've got late winners, we've got late equalisers and it's so important that we keep that belief and drive to the very last kick of the game."

Saturday’s equaliser — a faint touch from Max Cleworth that diverted Nathan Broadhead’s strike into the net — not only earned a point but strengthened the sense that Parkinson’s side are learning how to grind through tough Championship battles.
Parkinson believes that mindset has taken root across an intense week of fixtures that yielded five points from games against Ipswich Town, Bristol City and Blackburn in just eight days.
"I think when you have the three games in the eight days like that, we've just got to get the balance right because next week we go into another great run," he said.
"But it's been enjoyable this week, we've really enjoyed it. They've all been different types of games."
“I feel we are building as a team. It’s great to be up and around it (the play-offs).
Can we keep chipping away? Can we get into January in a challenging position?”
Wrexham’s defensive run also came under the spotlight.
Andri Gudjohnsen’s opening goal was the first they had conceded in 375 minutes of league football, ending a sequence of four successive clean sheets — equaling their best stretch under Parkinson.
Yet the manager was more encouraged by the reaction than concerned by the setback.
"We said to the dressing room, 'lads, come on, it's just football, teams are allowed to score…’ The lads responded really well."
He also praised the depth and impact of his squad during the demanding schedule. "I felt the subs came on, I've also got to mention Callum Doyle because I thought he was brilliant when he came on… I thought he made a big difference."

With new arrivals bedding in and key players returning to fitness, Parkinson thinks Wrexham are gathering momentum for the months ahead.
"I feel we are building as a team, I really do feel that.
“Hopefully, everyone's come through unscathed and we can have a bit of time this week to get everyone on the training pitch and have a good build-up towards Preston."
Cleworth’s goal – his first of the season - was reward for the fact that the 23-year-old defender is the only player who has started all 18 of the club’s Championship matches so far this season.
“This is the most punishing level,” said Cleworth.
“Every team has two, three, four really good attackers. Ones that can create something out of nothing.
“The step up has been the one that has come with the most intensity. It has challenged me the most. But, from my point of view and the club as a whole, it’s one we are really enjoying.”
As for Wrexham’s prospects, Cleworth added: “I don’t see why we can’t be right up there… If you can be consistent, you can see yourself fly up the league.
“I don’t think we should put any restrictions on ourselves. Hopefully, on the back of a few more runs, we can be fighting for promotion.”
