Llandudno FC released a statement last night announcing that manager Iwan Williams has been granted compassionate leave until the end of the season.
The statement reads: “Following a consultation with the manager over the last 48 hours, we feel as a club that the welfare of a person is greater than that of anything else, and allowing Iwan to take time away between now and the end of the season is in the best interest of all parties involved.
“We will continue to support the manager off the pitch, and we ask that his privacy is respected through this time.”
Williams, who was appointed as manager of the club in November 2017 after impressing at Caernarfon Town, released a statement on Twitter recently announcing the passing of his mother, and that his father was also unwell.
The club are expected to release more details in the coming days regarding the management of the team between now and the remainder of the season.
Recently appointed assistant manager Mark Cowan, an UEFA A License Candidate, could take the reins for Saturday’s match against Llanelli Town.
