Sam Ricketts and Michael Flynn have both welcomed the Emirates FA Cup draw which sees their teams face each other in the second round.
“It will be a great game for Welsh football,” said Wrexham manager Ricketts. “It adds extra spice and will certainly pick up a bit of interest. It’s going be a real tough game.”
Newport County team boss Flynn’s reaction was: “It’s brilliant for the supporters of both clubs. It’s an exciting one.
“A winnable tie, but it’s going to be a tough game. A very tasty tie.

The last time Wrexham and Newport played each other was in the 2013 National League play-off final.
County won that game 2-0 and returned to the Football League even though in the six Conference games between the clubs in three seasons leading up to that Wembley meeting Wrexham had gone unbeaten, winning three and drawing three.
The first ever meeting between the clubs from North and South Wales was in the 1921-22 FA Cup in the sixth qualifying round and drew 0-0 at the Racecourse. County won the replay 3-0.
Welsh Cup meetings have been far more common, starting with the semi-final of 1924, won 1-0 by Wrexham, right through to another semi-final in 1987, when County came out on top 4-3 over two-legs.

In total, the Welsh rivals were drawn together nine times, with the Reds winning six, although none were ever in the final itself.
In the Football League, there were 20 games between 1958 and 1988 with Newport winning eight, Wrexham seven and five drawn.
They meet again in Emirates FA Cup action over the weekend of Saturday, December 1. The exact date and time will be decided after TV requirements have been decided.
The Dragons defeated Weston Super Mare 2-0 in round one, while County emerged winners by the same score at Metropolitan Police.
There are two all-League One ties with Portsmouth, winners in 2008 when they defeated Cardiff City in the final, travel to Rochdale and Walsall host 1973 victors Sunderland.
The draw took place at The Beveree, home of National League South club Hampton & Richmond Borough, ahead of their first round tie against Oldham Athletic.
Two goals in the last two minutes earned Oldham a place in the second round. Chris Dickson fired Hampton ahead from a 15th minute penalty, while Rob Hunt (88 mins) and Callum Laing (90+4) replied.
The reward for Oldham is a second round away tie at Maidstone United.
The draw was conducted by Brighton striker Glenn Murray and former Middlesbrough and Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
Each winning club in the second round will receive £54,000 from the prize fund.
Premier League and Championship clubs, including Cardiff and Swansea, enter at the third round stage.
