Ryan Prosser scored his 163rd goal for Merthyr Town in their 1-1 EvoStik Southern League draw against Kings Langley at the MetCoaches Stadium.

Former Ton Pentre centre-forward Prosser signed for the Martyrs during 2010-11 and has made 322 appearances.

Even with his impressive tally, Prosser is only second on the club’s goalscoring list, five behind team-mate Ian Traylor.

It was ‘Traylz’ who provided the cross for the big striker to head Merthyr’s equaliser on 83 minutes.

Goalkeeper Joe Perry returned to the team following his one-match suspension and the Martyrs started well with Kerry Morgan and Traylor (twice) all going close in the first five minutes.

Former Hemel Hempstead Callum Adebiyi fired Langley ahead just before the half hour, while Traylor chipped over the bar just before half-time.

Prosser’s equaliser near the end was greeted by that downpour – and Merthyr came with a home draw which kept them in the play-off place.

Manager Gavin Williams now turns his focus on Tuesday evenings home match against Poole Town at the MetCoaches Stadium.

Poole have signed Eastleigh striker James Constable on a month’s loan.

The 34-year-old made his debut as a 74th minute substitute during Poole’s 1-1 draw against Beaconsfield away.

This is Constable’s second spell at Poole, scoring twice in 10 appearances on loan last season.

The formerl Oxford United, Walsall, Shrewsbury Town and Kidderminster Harriers player has scored 181 first team goals during his career, more than 50 of those in the Football League.

Merthyr Town FC: Joe Perry, Adam Davies (Gavin Williams 83), Kyle Patten, Craig McDonnell, Kyle Lewis, Kerry Morgan (Tom Meechan 83), Matthew Harris, Lee Lucas, Owain Jones (Corey Jenkins 83), Ryan Prosser, Ian Traylor. Subs: Tom Meechan, Corey Jenkins, Gavin Williams.
