Manager Rhys Griffiths and his Penybont team remain top of Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League Division One, but promotion favourites Llanelli Town are chasing hard.
Marcus Griffiths (2) and Owain Warlow scored second half goals for Penybont in their 3-0 win against Port Talbot Town.
Llanelli defeated Penybont 1-0 last midweek and followed that with a 4-1 home win against Caerau Ely at Stebonheath Park.
Penybont, former when Bryntirion Athletic and Bridgend Town merged five years ago, are three points clear at the top, but have only four fixtures to play.
Llanelli, in second place, still have to fit in nine matches and they are also through to the Nathaniel Car Sales League Cup semi-finals.
The Reds will play Cwmbran Celtic in their last four tie at a neutral venue on Tuesday, April 10, while the other semi-final features Pontypridd Town and Trefelin BGC.
That tie between two promotion chasing teams – Ponty in Division Two and Trefelin in Division Three – will be played on Wednesday, April 11.
There are effectively four teams still in with a chance of a top two finish with Penybont and Llanelli joined by Haverfordwest County in third and Afan Lido, who are fourth.
Cambrian and Clydach are fifth, but have ground to make up.
Port Talbot fielded a young team at Penybont and the score was 0-0 at half-time before the home team took control.
There was an added sense of urgency from Penybont in the second half and they sealed a 3-0 win.
Player-manager Cortez Belle went close from long range for Port Talbot during the first half, but there was little else of note from either team.
Penybont broke the deadlock after the break when Town goalkeeper parried a shot and Griffiths tucked away the loose ball.
Warlow made it 2-0 10 minutes later with a tap-in at the near post, while Griffiths added the third after 84 minutes.

Lee Trundle scored twice in Llanelli’s 4-1 home win against Caerau Ely.
All the goals were scored during the first half and Llanelli eased to the three points. They now play Goytre FC at home on Friday (7.30pm).
Llanelli have signed Jordan Vickers from Cwmamman United and he went on from the substitutes bench for the last 25 minutes.
Antonio Facciuto and captain Joe Clarke, both forced off during the midweek win against Penybont, reported fit for the match against Caerau Ely, but Kurtis March missed the fixture.
Trundle scored for Llanelli after eight minutes, while Sam Cowley equalised after 16 minutes when a Nathan Mathias free-kick bounced awkwardly in front of goalkeeper Craig Morris.
He could not hold on and Cowley scored from point blank range.
Trundle put Llanelli back in front after 24 minutes when his first effort was charged down and he headed in when the ball flew into the air.
Six minutes later Robert Thomas swung over a delivery which found Clarke and he took it on before slotting his finish into goal.
The scoring was completed during first half injury time when Chris Jones fired into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
Trundle was denied a hat-trick when Lewys Ross Miles cleared off the line.

Mark Snell, the 35-year-old manager who led Cwmamman United to promotion twice in three seasons, has left the First Division club.
He was appointed manager during the summer of 2014-15 and United progress from Division Three to Division One during his time in charge.
A club statement said: “Mark Snell has left his position of Manager of Cwmamman United.
“We would like to thank Mark for everything he has done for our club as a player and manager. In the last few years he has overseen a successful climb through the leagues to our current position in Welsh League One.
“His contribution is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. We hope he will keep in touch and he will always be welcome at our club.”
Carmarthenshire club Cwmamman are battling against relegation, lying second from bottom with 13 fixtures left, and Eirian Rees has been appointed caretaker manager.
Snell had said his Cwmmaman team would be competing at the top of Division One, but that has proved unrealistic.
The club parted company with Snell after a 5-2 defeat against Caerau Ely which left them bottom of the table. Colin Harris and Chris Allen scored United’s goals.
They have since won 1-0 at Taffs Well thanks to an Ashley Curtis goal and moved off the bottom, but are still deep in relegation trouble.
