Bangor City host fourth-placed Cardiff Met this afternoon looking to maintain their position at the top of JD Welsh Premier League.
A debut goal from new signing James Demetriou saw City claim their sixth win of the campaign against Bala Town last weekend.
The New Saints, Connah’s Quay and Cardiff Met are all within touching distance of the Citizens and poised to pounce on any slip up.
Cardiff Met inflicted one of Bangor’s two defeats this season, running out 3-1 winners back in August.
The Students travel to North Wales looking for their third straight win and City manager Kevin Nicholson says his side will have to show an improvement from their last meeting.
“The game against Cardiff Met will be another challenge, like they all are in the JD Welsh Premier League.
“Every game is different and, first and foremost, we have to concentrate on getting our own performance levels right. Having played them once already this season we are aware of what type of team they are and they certainly deserve credit for how they’ve started the season too.
“They are an organised and energetic team who have a good understanding of each other.
“We know that we will have to play a lot better than what we did in the away game back in August to get a positive result today and we are very much looking forward to that test.
“We head into this game on the back of a very good away win and in impressive form in general at the quarter-way stage having won six out of our eight matches so far.”
Second-placed The New Saints are a point behind Bangor City and will be looking to return to winning ways against newly promoted Prestatyn Town.

The Nomads held the Saints to a credible 2-2 draw on Tuesday night despite being rocked by the news that benefactor Gary Dewhurst is to stop his investment into the club.
“In what’s been a very difficult period for everyone connected with our Club, I thought the players’ response on Tuesday against TNS was first class and the performance lifted the spirits of everyone who was present. I can’t speak highly enough of the squad I have and also the staff I work with,” said manager Andy Morrison.
“We will collectively continue to set the very highest standards and only worry about the things we can control.”
