Michu has claimed he wants to play for Swansea again – just three months after severing ties with the club.

The striker is playing in the fourth tier of Spanish football as he rebuilds his career after two seasons wrecked by ankle problems.

And Michu, 29, insists if he does make a comeback in the Premier League he wants it to be with the Welsh outfit for whom he bagged 22 goals in a sensational first season in 2012/13.

Michu said: “I was really happy in Swansea, it was the best season of my life and my career. I miss the crowd, I miss the team-mates, I miss the city as well.

“I miss the Premier League and if I can play again at the highest level again, I will play for Swansea for sure.”

Michu is playing for UP Langreo in a bid to regain his fitness having been linked with a move to Aston Villa in the transfer window.

The one-cap forward had an injury-hit loan spell at Napoli last season before he mutually agreed to terminate his £45,000 a week deal with the Swans.

He added: “I had other offers in England. It’s normal as I was at Napoli. But I wanted to be honest, I want to play at the highest level again, but only when I’m at my best level.”
