Merthyr Town gave signed exciting left-back Rhys Davies from Hereford FC.
Teenager Davies, who joins the Martyrs on a 28-day loan, has played for League One Shrewsbury Town plus Vanarama National League sides Nuneaton Town and Chippenham.
“Rhys has a great career in front of him,” says Hereford manager Marc Richards.
“He’s a young lad who has already amassed a decent amount of senior games and he’s really hungry to succeed.”
Davies is the son of ex-Hereford United centre-half Gareth and won the JPL National Cup playing for the Bulls under-15s in 2015-16.
He had a trial at Southampton and has been watched by Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth plus Norwich City.
The Martyrs, who start their Southern Premier season at Harrow Borough today, have also signed Camden Duncan.
The left-sided defender or midfield player was released by Cheltenham Town at the end of last season after completing his two-year scholarship.

Duncan, 18, spent time on loan at Hellenic League Premier Division Lydney Town in 2018-19.
He has featured in most of Merthyr’s pre-season schedule and says: “I’m delighted to join this fantastic football club. I really enjoyed working with my team-mates over pre-season and now to finally sign is great.
“I’m really excited for the big campaign ahead.”
Manager Gavin Williams’ side travel to the Harrow’s Earlsmead Stadium for the opening game of their BetVictor Southern League Premiership season, while they are at home against Weston-super-Mare at the MetCoaches Stadium next Tuesday (7.30pm).
The Martyrs will make the 170-mile trip to Harrow and captain Ashley Evans says: “Everybody is eager to start the campaign on a positive note after a tough pre-season schedule.
“We all hope that the hard work pays off with a big three points.
“Harrow will a good outfit. It won’t be easy up there, but we have to go up there once a season so why not for the first game.
“A win would stand us in good stead ahead of another massive game on Tuesday against rivals Weston-super-Mare.”
