Merthyr Town aim to extend their 100 per cent home record when they play Chesham United at The MetCoaches Stadium this afternoon (Saturday).

Manager Gavin Williams and his team are looking to secure their fourth consecutive victory after 1-0 Emirates FA Cup win against Plymouth Parkway a week ago.

Ian Traylor’s late goal earned the win and Merthyr play Wedston-super-Mare away in the second qualifying round.

“Chesham pose another major test for us,” said Williams. “We have  to make sure we are ready because the minute you drop standards you are going to become unstuck.”

The Martyrs face a Chesham United side who have started the season well and are fourth in the BetVictor Southern League Premier South after six league games.

Merthyr Town beat Chesham 1-0 win at home last season with Kerry Morgan scoring.

The Martyrs have been drawn at home against Cinderford Town in the Southern Football League Challenge Cup first round.
