Merthyr Town welcome back senior players when they take on St Neots at the Loadlok Community Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
Manager Gavin Williams fielded a young team during their midweek match at Royston Town with experience provided by the likes of Craig Reddy, Kerry Morgan and Dean Clarke.
The Martyrs lost 5-1 in a match which saw assistant manager Clarke, aged 40, make his first appearance for the club in seven years.
That was a first defeat in four EvoStik Southern League fixtures, having beaten St Ives, Dorchester and Dunstable in their previous three games.
Williams is intent on fielding a far more experienced line-up against St Neots.
St Neots drew 1-1 at Merthyr two years ago, while the Martyrs ran out 3-0 winners last season.
When Merthyr visited the Premier Plus Stadium in Cambridgeshire earlier this season they were beaten 5-2 with Lewis Irwin (2), Luke Knight (2) and Dion Sembie Ferris the scorers.
Kyron Wiltshire returns to the St Neots squad after suspension, but they have injury doubts over Lewis Irwin, Scott Sinclair, Jack Bradshaw and Harry O’Malley.
The Martyrs have five home fixtures remaining at the end of a season which has seen them come through financial difficulties thanks to hard work by directors, players and manager Williams.
They are far more stable as a club than they were a few months ago.
