Jenkins Wants Summer Review At Swansea

Chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed he plans to hold a summer view of Swansea City’s disappointing season.

The Swans took a massive step towards securing their Premier League survival with Saturday’s 1-0 win over Norwich which left them nine points clear of the relegation zone.

But Jenkins still wants to find out what has gone wrong in a season that started so brightly and saw the club harbour hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.

There was even talk of a Champions League challenge last August though that quickly evaporated as the club were plunged into a relegation fight and saw Garry Monk replaced by Francesco Guidolin.

Jenkins, in his programme notes before Saturday’s game, said: “The way things have gone for us this season means we only have one main focus – and that is to finish the last 10 games in style and secure enough points to preserve our Premier League status.

“The summer will provide us with the chance to review the season and make sure we fully understand what we need to do to move forward on many aspects within our football club.

“But the main focus now is to secure the points needed to move away from the bottom three.”
