Llandudno boss Iwan Williams was left furious with the decision to disallow his side a second goal following their 1-1 draw with Aberystwyth Town on Friday night.

Relegation threatened Llandudno forged a first-half lead when George Harry found the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Veteran Geoff Kellaway replied as the hosts snapped a run of seven-straight defeats with 14-minutes remaining – but only after Llandudno were denied a second goal in controversial fashion.

With Llandudno in-front, Yalany Baio’s free-kick struck the Aberystwyth wall and spun out to Toby Jones, who brought the ball down and finished, only for the goal was overturned after the players had finished celebrating.

“It’s such a shame because we were by far the better team. We applied ourselves fantastically well and worked our socks off throughout. It’s just a shame that an individual has again cost us three points,” rued Williams, whose side now sit nine points adrift of safety.

“The decision to disallow Toby’s goal is a huge talking point and I hope Sgorio are brave enough to show it.

“I feel for my players as it sucked the life out of them. That goal is scored, it’s 2-0 and game over. But credit to my players for the effort to keep fighting until the bitter end. We keep going.”

Barry Town continue their title push on the road today as they travel to Caernarfon Town with a one-point lead at the top of the table.

Macauley Southam-Hales is not expected to feature with strong rumours linking the full-back with a move to Fleetwood.

New Nomads signing Adam Barton is expected to make his debut when Connah’s Quay visit Newtown. The former Dundee United man has received international clearance to feature as Andy Morrison’s side resume their title challenge.

In the Play-Off Conference, Llanelli can move within three points of safety with a win at 10th-placed Cefn Druids and Carmarthen Town host Cardiff Met.
