It’s the Biggie . . . Wellmen Against Seasiders at the Summit of Cymru North

What more exciting way could there be to kick off the weekend in Cymru North than Friday night's battle of the top two, as Dave Jones reports.

Second-place Holywell Town will be anxious to bounce back to form when they entertain unbeaten leaders Llandudno at Bartons North Wales Stadium.

After a flying start to the season the Wellmen have experienced a blip of late, suffering a first league defeat of the campaign at home to Buckley Town three weeks ago as well as exiting the Welsh Cup at Tier 3 Bangor City 1876 last weekend. In between, they drew 2-2 at Newtown.

Meanwhile, Llandudno have won 11 games in a row, storming to top spot and knocking Cymru Premier giants Connah's Quay Nomads out of the Welsh Cup last weekend.

It promises to be quite a battle on Friday evening.

Third-place Airbus UK Broughton are another team in need of a boost when they visit Mold Alexandra on Saturday.

The Wingmakers slumped to a shock 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Denbigh Town in their last league outing, and were eliminated from the Welsh Cup at Flint Town United last weekend.

Brickfield Rangers will target a third league wn in succession when they host Denbigh Town on Saturday at Clywedog Park.

Can Colin Caton claim his first win as Ruthin Town boss when the Vale of Clwyd side journey to fellow bottom-four outfit Caersws?

Having both reached the Welsh Cup last 16 in their latest tussles, Gresford Athletic and CPD Y Rhyl 1879 will have new-found confidence when they lock horns at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Guilsfield versus Newtown sees fifth home to fourth and a very close contest should be on the cards, while Holyhead Hotspur look to build on last weekend's win over Gresford when they greet Flint Mountain at the New Stadium.

After winning at previously unbeaten Holywell in their last league assignment, Buckley Town have little to fear when they visit winless bottom side Penrhyncoch.

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Table-topping Llanuwchllyn look a great shout to make it 14 matches unbeaten when they host bottom six opponents Kerry in Ardal North East on Saturday.

North Wales' top marksman Meilir Williams will be out to add more goals to his league tally of a stunning 24 in 13 games.

A cracking encounter is in store when fourth-place Cefn Albion host a Penycae side lying third, while Builth Wells versus Corwen has the makings of a draw.

Dolgellau Athletic are capable of getting the edge on fellow mid-table team Radnor Valley at Cae Marian, second-place Knighton Town should have too much for hosts Llanfair United, while a pair of struggling sides meet at Tower Field where second-bottom Llangollen Town welcome basement boys Lex XI.

Neither side has a win to fheir name this season, so will that change on Saturday?
In-form Llanrhaeadr against Bow Street might go either way, while Rhos Aelwyd could find the going tough at home to Llandrindod Wells.

ARDAL NORTH WEST

After going top in midweek with a 4-0 thrashing of Llangefni Town, CPD Dinas bangor City 1876 will be determined not to let things slip when they visit Mynydd Isa on Saturday.

Sixth-bottom Isa have put up a good show several times this season, but encountered a knock last weekend in crashing 4-1 at Llangefni.

Second-place Porthmadog versus Llangefni in third could end up the match of the day.

There's a great past history between these sides, who have met in the Cymru Premier and Cymru North in years gone by, but desperately want to return to Tier 2.

There could be just a single goal in this one.

After huge back-to-back away wins at Llannefydd and Prestatyn Town, Bethesda Athletic will seek a strong home display when Connah's Quay Town travel to Parc Meurig.

Llanrwst United and Llay Welfare are two teams in fine form and it would be no shock to see them share the points.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix will entertain Llannefydd with the intention of capitalising on the recent slip-ups of the visitors.
Pwllheli's home form has been up and down, but they may fancy their chances of a victory in against a Prestatyn side which has yet to win away in the league.

Trearddur Bay's recent surge of success on their travels should serve them well at bottom team St Asaph City, while CPD Y Felinheli will do well to stop NFA taking the honours at Cae Seilo.
