Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin admits he would be keen on taking over as Italy coach this summer.

The Italian’s future at the Liberty Stadium is a matter for speculation with the Swans considering an attempt to bring back former manager Brendan Rodgers.

Guidolin was linked with his national team before Antonio Conte got the job and could now be ready to succeed his Chelsea-bound countryman after the Euros.

The ex-Udinese chief, 60, said: “I’ve heard nothing officially, just some rumours.

“Of course, if they asked me if I’d like to coach the national team I would answer that obviously I would.

“It would be an honour for me, but I’d also like to continue here.”

Guidolin’s contract with the Swans runs out in June having taken over in January with the club fearing relegation.

But they are now 10 points clear of the drop zone with six games left ahead of Saturday’s visit of Chelsea.

He added: “Since I’ve been here the standings have improved a lot and we’ve made important steps, even if we’re not safe yet.”
