Francesco Guidolin is set to be back in charge for Swansea’s crunch Premier League game at Tottenham after being hit by illness.
The Italian missed two days training this week after picking up an infection but is expected to resume duties on Friday.
Guidolin will prepare the team for Sunday’s game at White Hart Lane – the first of two key games in London with Arsenal the following Wednesday.
Assistant coach Alan Curtis, 61, said: “Francesco’s okay.
“It’s ironic the two best weather days we’ve had since he’s been here and he’s ill.
“He’s got a bug but he’ll be back for the weekend and in plenty of time for Sunday.”
The Swans suffered their first defeat in five games last time out at home to Southampton which left them three points above the drop zone.
It was also the first defeat suffered by former Udinese manager Guidoiln since he took over from Curtis who is still officially interim manager.
Curtis admitted: “The big blip is the last home game where we were disappointed with result and performance.
“But it’s one defeat in five, but we are all putting pressure on ourselves, looking at the others at the bottom.
“League tables don’t lie and we know we have to up our game considerably and get on another run.
“Even though these are difficult games coming up we have to try and get something out of them.
“It’s a little bit of credit to Southampton who we couldn’t find answers to.
“The result is the most important but if we had played to a semblance of how we have been playing we might have had a chance and any loss now puts pressure on.
“Generally results and performances have been good but Southampton’s results have shown they are the form team but we didn’t adapt and deal with them.
“I feel sure the players will respond.
“We know Spurs will be tough and it’s followed quickly by Arsenal and then a massive home game against Norwich which with the position we’re both in it becomes a key game.”
