Full-back Cameron Pring has committed to Merthyr Town for another month.
Championship club Bristol City have agreed Pring, who has played for the Martyrs in all seven of their matches this season, can continue his development at the Loadlok Community Stadium.
He is in their squad for tonight’s Southern League Premier Division match at Basingstoke Town (7.45pm).
Gloucestershire-based Pring, a former Cheltenham Town youth player who lives in Wotton-under-Edge, spent time on loan at Guernsey FC last season.
“I am delighted that Bristol City have extended Cameron’s deal with us, and would like to thank Lee Johnson and Brian Tinnion for agreeing it,” says Merthyr manager Gavin Williams.
“Cameron has impressed everyone since he has come with his attitude and his quality. He has performed well in every game for us so far.”
Pring made his debut against Hitchin Town in Merthyr’s opening League fixture.
The Martyrs will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run in tonight’s clash with Basingstoke in Hampshire.
Eliot Richards will be available after completing his one match suspension on Saturday, while Kyle Copp’s fitness will be assessed after his ankle injury sustained on Saturday.
The home team are one place below the Martyrs in 11th having taken nine points from six games. They defeated St Ives Town 3-2 on Saturday at home and have won two of their three home fixtures having also defeating Chesham United.
Their biggest win this season was 8-0 away at Gosport Borough.
Basingstoke’s leading scorers are Ben Wright with six goals and Sam Smart on five.
Merthyr are in FA Cup action this Saturday when they are away against Havant and Waterlooville in the FA Cup second qualifying round before turning to successive Southern League fixtures at the Loadlok Stadium.
They are against Royston Town (Saturday, September 23) and Tiverton Town (Tuesday, September 26).
