Cardiff City have rejected the latest enquiry about star striker Kenneth Zohore.
Premier League Everton are the latest club to ask about the powerful Dane, who has also attracted interest from Brighton, Hull and others.
The Bluebirds, though, insist the won’t budge from their stance that Zohore is staying.
Manager Neil Warnock has that it would take a bid of £30m from a top six Premier club to even tempt Cardiff, who are top of the Championship.
Winger Craig Noone, striker Anthony Pilkington and left-sided Declan John could all leave the Cardiff before the transfer window closes on Thursday evening, while goalkeeper Ben Wilson has joined Oldham Athletic on loan until January.
Frederic Gounongbe remains with the Bluebirds, but does not have a squad number and is not included in first team or development groups.
Warnock is keen to sign a midfield player before Thursday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
“There is one particular position we need someone,” said Warnock. “I might ask the board if I can spend a bit of money to make an offer for a player.”
“I’ve spoken to a couple of managers about players, but they did not want them to leave. I only asked about loans, but now I’m thinking of asking whether I can put an offer in and try and buy one.
“We are in a good position. There’s just one area I think we are a bit weak so I’ll ask them and they’ve not said no to me yet.”
The next Championship fixture for Cardiff City is at Fulham on Saturday week, immediately after the international break.
