Wrexham and Merthyr Town were both left without matches when their scheduled fixtures were postponed.

The Dragons were due to play Torquay United at home, while the Martyrs were preparing to welcome Dorchester Town at MetCoaches Stadium.

Wrexham and Torquay held talks last Friday and opted to call the game off in the interests of safety.

Supporters from Devon were due to make a round trip of more than 500 miles, while Wrexham travel from throughout the north-west and north Wales to the stadium.

Wrexham now have back-to-back away fixtures – against Bromley on Saturday and Yeovil a week later – before entertaining Eastleigh at the Racecourse on Saturday, March 7.

Storm Dennis also hit the BetVictor Southern League Premier South hard with only two games played. Merthyr’s clash with Dorchester was among the casualties.

Chesham United increased their lead by a point after a 2-2 draw at Harrow Borough, who took the lead after 35 minutes with virtually their first attack of the game when Michael Bryan looped the ball over Chesham ‘keeper Ben Goode.

Chesham’s equaliser four minutes after half-time was also wind-assisted as Brad Clayton’s shot was deflected and David Pearce lobbed the ball over the home ‘keeper.

Chesham took the lead when Clayton beat his man and again chipped the keeper after 68 minutes, while Harrow levelled Shaun Preddie scored.

The only other game to go ahead was at Privett Park where Gosport Borough earned a 2-1 win against third-bottom Walton Casuals to move up to seventh, five points off the play-off spots.

Casuals scored first after 78 minutes when Cole Brown netted, while Boro equalised six minutes when Matt Paterson poked home from close range.

The winner came four minutes into injury time when Ryan Woodford headed a corner back across goal for substitute Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton to turn the ball into the net.
