Llandudno manager Iwan Williams has made the first of his summer signings with the arrival of defenders Kai Edwards and Mike Pearson from league runners-up Connah’s Quay.
The arrival of Edwards, 27, and Pearson, 30, will represent something as a coup for Llandudno with the pair playing a key-role in a Connah’s Quay outfit which had the best defensive record in the Welsh Premier League this season.
Pearson signs from his hometown club after a single seasons with Connah’s Quay whilst Edwards, formerly of Wrexham and The New Saints, leaves the Deeside Stadium after an 18-month spell.
“The signings of both Kai and Peo (Pearson) are huge for us as a football club and they just epitomise what we want at this club. Fantastic players and whom have a wealth of experience in the league. More importantly they are good characters that will hopefully put on us on a path to where we want to go,” said Iwan Williams.
It promises to be a busy week for Llandudno with Williams hoping to have the majority of his new-look squad in place within the next fortnight. He and his staff have been working hard behind the scenes to re-shape the first-team squad and further arrivals at imminent.
It is thought the club are closing in on Kai Edwards’ younger brothers, Zebb and Zyaac from relegated Prestatyn Town, with Williams hoping to finalise as many as six more deals by the end of the week as they look to improve on this season’s 10th-place finish.
