Connah’s Quay have announced the shock news that Craig Harrison has joined them as first-team coach – on the eve of their top of the table clash with former club The New Saints.

Harrison leaves Bangor City after just five months to link up with Andy Morrison at the Deeside Stadium.

Neil Gibson vacated the Nomads’ first-team coach role last week after being appointed as manager of Prestatyn Town.

Harrison’s appointment will be seen as a major boost to Connah’s Quay given his experience of winning numerous titles as manager of The New Saints.

Bangor City are now looking to appoint their sixth-manager in three seasons after appointing Harrison to lift them out of the Cyrmu Alliance following last season’s shock relegation from the Welsh Premier League.

City say that they were made aware of the news this morning after Harrison stated he wanted to leave the club to pursue a full-time role.

Director of Football Stephen Vaughan Jnr will take charge of the first-team affairs in the interim.
