Cymru Premier clubs Connah’s Quay and Barry Town have learnt the identity of their respective European opponents later this month.
Connah’s Quay will face FK Sarajevo at home in what will be the Nomads’ first ever UEFA Champions League qualifying tie, while Barry Town have been handed an away draw to Faroe Islanders RSI Runavík in the UEFA Europa League.
The Cymru Premier champions will host the Bosnian side in a one-off tie at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 18 August.
FK Sarajevo were one of three possible opponents that the Nomads could have faced and whilst Andy Morrison’s side will be relieved to have avoided Red Star Belgrade, Sarajevo will still present a considerable challenge.
Barry Town, meanwhile, must travel to the Faroe Islands in their preliminary round tie against Runavik. That game, also to be played over one-leg, will be played on Thursday 20 August.
Ruavik – one of three possible Faroe teams that Barry could have faced – are currently midway through their season and currently sit fourth in the 10-team Faroese top flight.
The remaining two Welsh qualifying teams -The New Saints and Bala Town – will enter the UEFA Europa League’s first qualifying round.
