Ton-up Newport manager Michael Flynn is aiming for promotion to League One – and is intent on succeeding.
Flynn will celebrate his century of Newport County matches as a manager when they face Crawley Town at Rodney Parade on Saturday (3pm).
Newport-born Flynn’s first match in charge was against Crewe during March 2017 and he says: “It’s a nice milestone and a great privilege for me to be the manager of Newport County.

“You want a bit of success to go with that, but we’ve really turned the thinking of the club around and moved it on 10-fold.”
Flynn has a record of 42 wins in 99 competitive matches as County chief – he’d love number 43 to come on Saturday.
Newport will be looking to bounce back from suffering back to back league defeats for the first time this season when they entertain Crawley Town.
Flynn has confirmed teenage striker Antoine Semenyo will be staying with County until the end of the season.
Semenyo joined on a season-long loan in July, but parent club Bristol City had the option of recalling him in January.
“He’s a fantastic young talent and probably unfortunate he’s not started that many because the other two have got nearly 30 goals between them,” said Flynn.
“It’s taking that form to keep him out of the starting line-up on a regular basis.”
Dan Butler is available to play against Crawley after winning his appeal against the red card received against Forest Green Rovers on Boxing Day.
The Football Association rescinded that decision and he is in the squad against Crawley.
