Cardiff City midfield player Tyrone Duffus has joined Hereford FC on loan.
Former Everton trainee Duffus, 20, has moved to Southern League Hereford until January 1 and will be available for their Premier Division clash with rivals Merthyr Town at the Loadlok Community Stadium on Boxing Day (1pm).
Duffus played for the Bluebirds under-23 team against Hereford at Edgar Street during pre-season.
He is eligible to play for Hereford in the FA Cup and FA Trophy, although clearance was not through in time for him to play against Potters Bar in the goalless draw on Saturday.
That was in the Trophy and the teams replay on Tuesday.
Hereford, who are among the favourites for promotion to National League football, will face an away trip to Oxford City if they beat Potters Bar in the replay.
They travel to Fleetwood in the Emirates FA Cup second round early next month after beating Telford United 1-0 thanks to a John Mills goal in the last round.
Oxford are third from bottom in National League South, but defeated Colchester United in the FA Cup.
Cardiff City’s under-23 home match against Coventry City, originally scheduled for today, has been moved following international call-ups.
The fixture will now be played on Thursday, February 15 at Cardiff International Sports Stadium (2pm).
The next development match for City is against Severnside rivals Bristol City at Cardiff City Stadium on Monday, Novemner 27 (7pm).
Cardiff have had a number of trialists in their development squad recently and the five who played against Southampton at Cardiff International Sports Campus were:
Nathan Mavilla: Former West Ham winger, aged 20. Has played for Maidstone United and Wealdstone since being released by West Ham. He was an unused substitute in a Europa League tie against Romanian club Astra.
Amos Nasha: Defensive midfield player who started his career in the West Ham youth set-up. The 22-year-old was named in the Hammers Europa League squad four times, whole he went to play for Dover Athletic and Concord Rangers.
Liam Conte: Teenage American midfield player from Philadelphia. The former University of Mobile student is a tall and fast 19-year-old who caused problems for Southampton and went close with one effort which was superbly saved by goalkeeper Jack Rose.
Kris Owens: Liverpool-born 18-year-old who plays left-back or in midfield. Has had trial spells at Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United.
Lewis Byrne-Hewitt: London-born 20-year-old centre-forward. Played at the Arsenal and Norwich Academies, who he has been with Isthmian League Billericay Town this season.
