Cardiff City have launched their goal of the month competition for October with nine players in the video battle.

Omar Bogle and Anthony Pilkington are both contenders along with Shannon Evans from the Cardiff City women’s team plus a number of young players.

Sam Bowen, the son of former Bluebirds and Swans midfield player Jason, won the September #ClubGOTM competition. He has been with the club’s Academy since the age of six and is a composed and confident competitor through the middle.

Bogle’s goal during the 3-1 home win against Ipswich Town is on the October list. He struck with a clinical low finish after a flowing passing move carved out the chance.

The former Wigan striker also scored at Bristol City, but was later sent off during a 2-1 defeat at Ashton Gate.

Pilkington netted for City’s development team, turning inside on the left wing before firing across the goalkeeper and into the far corner.
