Dai Sport tour blog from Cornwall. Terry Phillips is in the South West with the Bluebirds all week.

Bluebirds players will have to walk through the park next to Bodmin Town’s Priory stadium tonight (Wednesday).

Extensive road works around then ground mean Cardiff City’s bus can’t drive in.

The coach driver discovered the problem on a trial run to Bodmin yesterday and manager Neil Warnock was told when they returned to the team base at St Mellion.

Warnock could rent a mini bus to ferry his players over the last part of their journey or he can lead a trek across the park and into the stadium.

Jazz Richards will be hoping for a run-out at Bodmin after sitting out the 7-2 win against AFC Tavistock two days ago.

Wales international Richards was the only substitute who wasn’t used by Warnock, who finished the game with 10 men after Nathaniel Mendez-Laing went off.

Richards was held back because he was feeling tight after a morning training session, while Anthony Pilkington, Callum Paterson and Lee Camp are all in Cornwall with the group, but weren’t involved in the squad against Tavvy.

Pilkington may be ready for the clash with Bodmin.

Lee Tomlin is also yet to play, having been working on his fitness.

Cardiff City squad for Bodmin match: B Murphy, N Etheridge, L Peltier, J Bennett, B Manga, S Morrison (capt), M Connolly, A Gunnarsson, L Damour, J Ralls, K Harris, M Kennedy, N Mendez-Laing, I Saadi, D Ward, K Zohore, G Halford, J Richards, A Pilkington.

Neil Warnock invited Bluebirds’ coaches, staff and players to a barbecue at his impressive home near Stoke Climsland, Cornwall.

That is a short walk away from the team pre-season base at St Mellion International Resort.

Cardiff players have been training every day, including on the morning of matches, and Warnock is working them flat out to ensure they are in peak condition for the new Championship season.

They were, though, given a few hours off from training on a hot and sunny in Cornwall on Tuesday.

The Bluebirds have issued an open invitation for Cardiff fans to join Warnock and his players for training on Thursday morning.

The session is at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland (10am-Noon).

A club statement says: “Fans have an exclusive opportunity to watch the squad train.

“Neil and the players will sign autographs and pose for photographs following the session.”

The post code for the college is PL17 8PB and City supporters should make their way to the sports pitches.

Cardiff City’s under-23 team have a fixture at St Austell FC on Thursday. Andy Legg and Jarrad Harvey are in charge of the development group, who may include a couple of first team players in their line-up.
