The dai-sport blog from Cardiff City’s pre-season tour to Cornwall and Devon. Terry Phillips is with the Bluebirds.

Sean Morrison is back in his home town this evening (Friday) when Cardiff City play Plymouth Argyle at Home Park in the third and final match of their Cornish tour.

Captain ‘Mozza’ was an Argyle season ticket in the early 2000s and he says: “I haven’t been back to play at Home Park for a few years.

“It will be great to play in front of friends and family.

“I was a season ticket holder at Home Park for two seasons and they were in the Championship. They are my home team and I was delighted when they were promoted to League One last season.”

It’s been seven years since Morrison last played at Plymouth. He helped Swindon Town win 4-0 in the FA Cup and he scored one of the goals.

The big centre-half signed a new three-year contract for the Bluebirds this week.

Neil Warnock is back at one of his former clubs today, having led Plymouth Argyle to promotion in 1995-96.

Warnock was manager when the Devon club won the Third Division play-offs.

Argyle manager Derek Adams to renewing acquaintances with Warnock and Bluebirds’ winger Matty Kennedy, who was a key component of Argyle’s promotion-winning squad last season when he was on loan from Cardiff.

“Neil has been helpful to me since I came to this area,” says Adams. “He also gave me Matty Kennedy, who did exceptionally well for us last season.

“He’s a really good player and scored important goals for us. He’s a player that we’d like back at Plymouth Argyle at some point, but sometimes finance is the key to what you can do.

“It’s probably not a possibility from a loan point of view and I don’t think it would be a possibility from a permanent point of view. It’s not going to be in the wages; he’s been at a Championship club.”

Warnock is assisted by ex-Argyle goalkeeper Kevin Blackwell.

Former Plymouth Argyle Craig Noone has not joined the Bluebirds squad on their pre-season tour.

Declan John, Ibrahim Meite and Mark Harris were the three full pros who linked up with Cardiff by travelling with the under-23 team for their 2-2 draw at AFC St Austell.

It was thought Noone and Stuart O’Keefe, who had stayed back in Cardiff at the start of the week, would also be making their way down.

But neither have arrived and both they, and Wales international John, look certain to be moving on.

Cardiff’s under-23 players stayed at the St Mellion International Resort with Warnock’s first team squad last night.

The young Bluebirds have moved to Bideford today and play the Southern League club on Saturday (2pm).

Warnock’s senior players travel back to South Wales after the fixture against Plymouth.

Their next match is at Shrewsbury Town next Tuesday, while the development players take on Hereford United away the following evening.
