Wrexham will return to the top of Vanarama National Football League table by Saturday evening if they win back-to-back home fixtures.

Barrow are visitors to the Racecourse this evening, while the Dragons entertain Maidstone United on Saturday.

Leaders Leyton Orient travel to Aldershot Town this evening, while they play at FA Trophy semi-final first leg tie against Telford United on Saturday.

Manager Bryan Hughes has called on his Wrexham players to take advantage of the home fixtures following their 1-0 defeat against Orient at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

That was the first defeat since Hughes took charge last month, but they have taken 13 points from six fixtures and he says: “We need to pick up the momentum again and we have a really good opportunity this week.

“There are going to be a lot of twists and turns over the next few weeks.

“We have to keep giving ourselves a chance – we’re in good form, albeit after a defeat, and it’s about bouncing back now, taking our game forward and trying to get the victories on the board.

“Every game is difficult in the National League. Barrow earned a good win on Saturday themselves, so they’ll be coming here full of confidence.

“But the beauty of football is, when you’ve had a disappointment like Saturday, the chance to bounce back quickly.”

New loan signing Jermaine McGlashan should be granted international clearance to play against Barrow and Hughes says: “We have got a strong home record. It’s a chance for us to bounce back with two home games coming up in a short space of time.

“It gives us an opportunity to get back on track.”
