Rob Page says Wrexham striker Paul Mullin will be considered for Wales selection if he scores regularly in League Two. Liverpool-born Mullin qualifies for the Dragons through his Welsh-born grandmother and has said he would love to represent Wales on the international stage.

David Brooks has been handed an emotional return to the Wales camp for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Armenia and Turkey. But while Wales head coach Rob Page was delighted to welcome back the Bournemouth playmaker, he was forced to exclude Luton Town skipper Tom Lockyer after his collapse in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Saturday.

The Bournemouth fielder has been included in manager Rob Page’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Armenia and Turkey.

Wales and Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks has revealed how his treatment for cancer left him struggling to get up the stairs as he battled his way back to fitness. The 25-year-old Wales international made a welcome return to competitive action against Aston Villa last month, having last featured in a game in September 2021, shortly after which he was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma.

David Brooks is set to get a Wales recall this summer after returning to action following cancer treatment. Brooks returned to the pitch on Saturday 535 days after his last game, coming on as a 79th-minute substitute in Bournemouth’s 3-0 Premier League defeat at Aston Villa. The 25-year-old was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2021 and revealed he was cancer-free last May.

David Brooks’ return to first team duty felt a privilege for the man who selected him for club action last weekend. The Wales international was picked on the bench by Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil for his team’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool last Saturday. It was Brooks’ first inclusion in a match day squad for 525 days after his recovery from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Wales boss Rob Page has left the door to the World Cup open for David Brooks – after admitting the Bournemouth star’s return after cancer moved him to tears. Brooks has signed a new four-year deal with the Cherries after making an astonishing recovery to full fitness just 10 months after being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma. The midfielder has yet to return to first team action, but such has been the 24-year-old’s rapid progress that Page is adamant a place in the Welsh squad for Qatar is a distinct possibility.

David Brooks has vowed to soon make a return to playing action after signing a new long term deal with Bournemouth. The Wales international – who has been given the all-clear after cancer treatment – has penned a new deal which will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until at least June 2026. Brooks was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma in October but has completed his treatment and received the green light to resume his football career at the end of last season.

Kieffer Moore has been hailed as “amazing” by his manager Scott Parker after the Wales striker’s dramatic goal sent Bournemouth back to the Premier League on a night of double Welsh celebration for the club. Moore fired home a decisive late winner against Nottingham Forest as The Cherries claimed the second automatic promotion sport behind champions Fulham with a 1-0 victory. Surrounded by his Bournemouth teammates, Lowe held up the No.7 shirt of the absent Brooks after the scorer had just silenced the home support with a well-struck volley to give the visitors the lead.  It was a gesture that might have drawn abuse in a different context, but Brooks has revealed he is starting treatment for cancer and the reaction of the home fans was as dignified as their applause in the seventh minute, moments earlier.
