Cornish Trip Can Complete a Perfect Season for South Wales Warriors

The South West divisional title may already be secured but the South Wales Warriors are aiming to complete a perfect season on Sunday and ensure home field advantage for the play-offs. The Warriors are undefeated and complete their eight-game regular season in division two of the British American Football League (BAFA) with a long trip to Redruth to face the Cornish Sharks (2.30pm). While the Warriors put 62 points on the Sharks when the teams met at Llanharan in June the priority for the Warriors, who’ve only conceded two touchdowns all season, is keeping their hosts from scoring.

Welsh Rugby Fixture List Planning Leaves All The Loose Ends Still Untied

Most of Welsh rugby’s 2018-19 fixture list is out and dates in the diary have been ringed. What hasn’t happened, argues Geraint Powell, is any real attempt to fit the various tiers together so that it all makes sense. Nothing illustrates the disjointed nature of the regional tier of Welsh professional rugby more than the annual release of the Pro14 fixtures. Regional rugby is a complete package, always has been and always will be if you want to obtain most of the resource concentration synergies in relation to increased earning and more efficient expenditure. Tying everything together at the end is where the biggest benefits accrue.

Merthyr Handed Capital Trip As Premiership Prepares To Shrink

Merthyr will have more silverware in mind when they launch the defence of their Principality Premiership crown with a trip to the Arms Park to meet Cardiff on the opening day of the new season. Last season’s league and cup winners are aiming to make it a hat-trick of Premiership titles to add to the WRU National Championship victory they secured in 2016. If the Ironmen make it three in a row they will become only the third side in the history of the tournament to make it a hat-trick – Neath won four in a row between 2004-2008, while Pontypridd did the same between 2011-2015.
