Fairfield Merlin Stages Rally Comes To Pembrey

One of Wales’ oldest motor clubs, Carmarthen MC, which was established in 1911, has renamed one of its most popular events the Fairfield Merlin Stages Rally. Formerly known as the Peter Lloyd Rallying Stages, which was voted the best event in the 2017 Welsh Tarmacadam Rally Championship, the single-venue event will take place at the Welsh Motorsports Centre as scheduled on Sunday 21 October. The partnership marks a new relationship with John Morgan and his family who are heavily involved in motorsport from their base near Bridgend. A former rally winner at Pembrey, Morgan is looking towards the event as an overdue opportunity to compete there again.

The Fairfield Merlin Stages Rally is part of a number of championships, including the JD Tyres Welsh Tarmacadam Rally Championship, Welsh Junior, FMP Rally Challenge and the very competitive F1000 Junior series. As such, the event, which has run to capacity entry for a number of years, hopes to welcome a full list of 70 starters again this year.
