Also on show will be Welsh stars of past and present including former world champion Richie Burnett, Jim Williams, Peter Locke, Barrie Bates, Ritchie Davies, Jonathan Worsley, Wayne Warren and Dai Caller.

The first round draw has thrown up some exciting ties which will no doubt produce some tasty tungsten.

“There is nothing quite like a night at the darts and I’m really looking forward to this one,” said Webster, who claimed the Red Dragon Port Talbot Darts Masters crown in June.

“Leighton Rees was a giant of the game we all love. Not only was he the first big Welsh star but he was also the first ever world champion and it will be fantastic to honour him and celebrate darts in Wales with this unique event.”

Rees won the inaugural World Professional Darts Championship in 1978 and was runner-up the following year. One of the sports first icons, Rees passed away in 2003.
