- Jonny Clayton Tells Luke Littler It'S Time To Chase The Ferret
The Welshman surged back to the summit on Night 10 in Brighton with a dramatic 6-5 victory over Michael van Gerwen, completing a stunning comeback to secure his third nightly win of the 2026 campaign.
Clayton now leads the table on 24 points, ahead of Littler and fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price, who sit second and third respectively.
Having reached his fourth nightly final of the season, Van Gerwen briefly looked set to take the spoils after racing into a commanding 5-2 lead.
But Clayton refused to yield, producing a superb late rally to win four consecutive legs and snatch victory in the decider.
Reflecting on the turnaround, Clayton admitted he had all but written off his chances before capitalising on a crucial opening.
"I thought the game was over,” admitted “The Ferret”.
“He missed and gave me a chance. We've got to take chances.
“The last leg was probably my best of the game but they all count.
“I'm through, back on top of the table, and it's time for Luke Littler to start chasing me again.”

The triumph underlined Clayton’s experience and resilience on the big stage, qualities he believes are vital as the race for the play-offs intensifies.
"I know what it's like to be here, I've got the experience, I know what it takes to get to Finals night,” he added.
“You've got to play darts, taken your chances, and if you play half-decent you've got a chance of playing on Night 17."
Clayton’s return to form comes after a couple of difficult weeks, including a defeat to Josh Rock, but he was delighted to bounce back in style.
"I lost to Josh Rock last week, and the week before. Last week's game was brilliant - Josh hit every double going.
“That puts you under pressure. I was just looking for two points coming into tonight, anything else was a bonus. So to end the night back in top spot, with another trophy for the cabinet is great."
While Clayton stole the headlines, Price endured a frustrating evening, exiting at the quarter-final stage following a 6-3 defeat to Rock.
Despite that setback, Price remains firmly in contention in third place and continues to be a major force in this year’s competition.
Elsewhere, Van Gerwen’s run to the final proved significant in the wider standings, lifting him back into the top four and strengthening his push for a play-off berth.
Littler, meanwhile, suffered a second consecutive quarter-final exit, falling 6-4 to Stephen Bunting on a difficult night in which he struggled to find his rhythm.
Defending champion Luke Humphries also endured a setback, missing a match dart in his quarter-final defeat to Clayton.
With six weeks remaining, he faces an uphill battle to break into the top four.
