The Welsh pair produced their leading marks at the Bayer Invitational in Leverkusen, Germany.

Taylor, 19, set a new world mark in the T44 long jump with a distance of 4.52m after 26-year-old Duke set a new F41 shot put world record of 14.19m.

Taylor’s effort comes just four days after she was selected for the World Para-athletics Junior Championships, where she will run the 100m and 200m in the T44.

Two-time world silver medallist Duke, who had thrown a world-leading 14.53m – an unofficial record – earlier in the season, now looks capable of claiming his first World Para-athletics title at Dubai in November.

Duke said: “It’s amazing. I’ve known I’ve been able to do it for a long time. It’s just to get it ratified now and it will be there for everyone to see, and a good start to go in to the Worlds in November.”
