Flynn Hoping Exiles Make The Right Point At Mansfield

Newport County boss Michael Flynn is hoping it is his team, rather than his chairman, that takes the points when they open their League Two campaign at Mansfield Town this weekend. Last season Flynn took his side to Field Mill on a Tuesday night and ended up on the wrong end of a 5-0 scoreline. That came the week after they were finally kicked-out of the FA Cup by Spurs following a fifth round replay at Wembley.

Crofts Joins ‘Winner’ Flynn At Newport County

Newport County have signed Welsh international midfielder Andrew Crofts on a one-year deal. The 34-year-old will arrive at Rodney Parade with 438 league appearances behind him, including a season in the Premier League with Norwich City, and 29 Welsh caps. Crofts launched his career at Gillingham, where he was a team mate of County boss Michael Flynn.

Ben Tozer Quits Newport County For League Two Rivals

Ben Tozer has quit Newport County to join League Two rivals Cheltenham Town next season. The 28-year-old midfield dynamo made 45 appearances for the Welsh side last season and was instrumental in the FA Cup run and rise to mid-table respectability.
