Wrexham Predicted To Stay In League One . . . Just

Wrexham are set to survive in League One this season – but only just – according to the latest data on EFL fixture release day.

That is according to the Grosvenor Sport SuperComputer, a model created by a specifically curated code, which works as a probability model to predict the outcome of every single League On match and then simulates every fixture 1,000 times.

And the SuperComputer believes Phil Parkinson’s side will secure a second season in League One, finishing in 19th place.

At the other end of the table, Birmingham City are in line to almost reach a century of points, with Blackpool swiftly following them behind.

Lincoln City, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town and Peterborough United are all set to clinch Play-Off places as a result of strong seasons, with Wycombe Wanderers missing out by a single point.

At the other end of the table, Burton Albion have flirted with relegation from the third tier consistently, with the SuperComputer predicting their luck will finally run out this season and they will finish bottom of the pile.

How does the SuperComputer work?

The SuperComputer is a probability model, not determined by human predictions or bias. What happens is the SuperComputer estimates the outcome of each remaining fixture based on a team’s current strength (based on factors such as league position and form) and betting market odds.

The machine then simulates the remaining games in a season 1,000 times and constructs an average league table from the 1,000 simulations, to rule out anomalous results.
