Warnock In As Cardiff Move Quickly To Replace Trollope

Neil Warnock has been installed as Cardiff City’s new manager less than 24 hours after Paul Trollope’s sacking.

The Bluebirds will be the vastly-experienced Warnock’s 15th club as manager.

He will take over with City one off the bottom of the Championship with just two wins in 11 games.

Warnock’s first game in charge will be the Severnside derby at home to Bristol City on October 14.

The 67-year-old helped Rotherham avoid relegation from the Championship last season, but turned down the chance to stay.

Kevin Blackwell will be his assistant and Ronnie Jepson first-team coach.

But current staff members James Rowberry, Martyn Margetson and Lee Southernwood will continue as part of the back-room team.

Warnock had a long spell as manager of Sheffield United and has also been at the helm at the likes of Crystal Palace, QPR and Leeds.

Trollope was axed on Tuesday just five months after succeeding Russell Slade with assistant, Lennie Lawrence, and conditioning coach Ryland Morgan also leaving the club.
