Neil Taylor has apologised to the 2,000-plus Swansea City fans who witnessed the abject 4-0 defeat at Leicester City on Sunday.
The Swans manager Francesco Guidolin had insisted his players were not on the beach after the 3-0 defeat at Newcastle eight days earlier.
But in an even-more disappointing display Guidolin saw his side swept aside by the East Midlanders who were without top scorer Jamie Vardy.
And left-back Taylor, 27, admitted: “We are disappointed for our fans who travelled up to watch the game.
“It has been a bad two weeks for them and as a team we can only apologise for that.
“We have to keep fighting to turn this form around once again and get as much as we can from our final three games. We want to put a display on next weekend to put things right.”
The Swans are still not mathematically safe from the drop though they are nine points ahead of Sunderland and Norwich who have four games left – one more than Guidolin’s side.
They face Liverpool at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday before their final games at West Ham and then home to Manchester City and need some good displays to take into what will be a pivotal summer.
And whatever happens over the coming weeks it seems certain Guidolin will not be in charge when the players resume for pre-season training.
Taylor added: ”We have been in a good run of form but now we are off the back of two defeats away from home.
“We have to go back to the drawing board as a team and defend a lot better because we are really disappointed with the number of goals we have conceded in the last two games.”
