Newly appointed Cardiff City manager Steve Morison has issued an honest message to the Bluebirds faithful ahead of his first permanent game in charge at Preston on Saturday.
“Trust us, stay with us and believe in what we are trying to do,” urged Morison.
“Everything we are doing is to be progressive and challenging.
“We want to make it the best place possible for fans and players.
“Short-term goals, we need to get higher in the league.
“We need to do that together as a group.
“It’s not about me, it’s about getting the players and the staff going in the right direction.
“We need to get away from trouble and enjoy our work every single day, that’s what it’s all about.
“If we can bring the fans closer to the players, anything we can do we will try and do.
“There won’t be any stone left unturned until the end of the season. Hopefully it’s longer, if we are doing the right things.”
Morison won over the vast majority of Cardiff fans during his three-match caretaker spell as well as seemingly being a hit with the board.
“I can’t thank them any more. They believe in me,” explained Morison.
“They put their trust in me and it’s up to me to repay that now.

“Whether people want to like it or not then I must be doing something right at the minute.
“They aren’t going to put any Tom, Dick or Harry in a job.”
Morison is also hopeful of marking his first game in permanent charge with a win at Preston.
“It’s important we get good results in all our games,” says Morison.
“Can we continue the good work we’ve done?
“Being as good as we’ve been… can we get better?
“If we give the effort we have given and perform as a minimum like we have in the previous games and with your main goal threat putting the ball in the back of the net – we can start at Preston on Saturday.”
