Llandudno Aim to Continue Mean Start to JD Cymru North

The JD Cymru North resumes on Friday night and it's a chance for Llandudno to build on their solid start

Three unbeaten sides will put their records to the test in the JD Cymru North this weekend - and all look to have a good chance of keeping their impeccable slates intact.

Friday night sees Llandudno, sitting third and yet to concede a single goal in their five wins and a draw, travel to Ruthin Town, fifth-frm-bottom with just one victory and five losses.

On-fire goal-getters Harvey Bennett and Mark Cadwallader are sure to be dangers for the visitors.

On Saturday, second-place Airbus UK Broughton, also with five wins and a draw so far, host Caersws.

A home win looks a good shout for Mark Allen's side, who are banging in the goals like there is no tomorrow with Cymru North Player of the Month George Peers in deadly form with eight to his name to date.

Also on Saturday, leaders Holywell Town, with a perfect log of six games and six wins, entertain Gresford Athletic, who are yet to find any consistency in their results.

The Wellmen won their first eight matches in all competitions before losing to Cymru Premier table-toppers Caernarfon Town on Wednesday in the Nathaniel MG Cup via a penalty shootout.

Holywell led 2-0 at Go Goodwins Stadium before being pegged back by two late goals from the Canaries, then being edged out 4-3 on spot-kicks.

How will that outcome affect Johnny Haseldin's side? Not too badly one would expect. They gave the leaders of Wales' top league all that they could handle and can take strength from that.

Other Friday night clashes in Cymru North include Buckley Town playing hosts to winless Holyhead Hotspur.

Asa Hamilton's Bucks have already won at Holyhead in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup this season and will be favourites for three points at The Globe.

Denbigh Town will be out to ensure managerless bottom side Flint Mountain remain stranded on one point at Central Park on Friday, while Penrhyncoch against Guilsfield could be close contest.

Saturday delivers an attractive fixture in the shape of CPD Y Rhyl 1879 versus Newtown at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium.

Both sides have lost just once, with Newtown's undefeated start ending at Llandudno last weekend. A draw looks like a decent prediction.

Expect a good tight battle between Brickfield Rangers and Mold Alexandra at Clywedog Park.
