The top two sides in the JD Cymru North will be determined to maintain their unbeaten records when they take to the field on Friday night.

Leaders Holywell Town, seven wins from as many matches, put their 100 percent streak to the test at home to CPD Y Rhyl 1879, while Airbus UK Broughton, 19 points out of a possible 21 to date, travel to Gresford Athletic.

The Wellmen have been ruthless in the results department since the beginning of the campaign and will take on a Rhyl outfit looking to bounce back from a 5-2 home loss against Newtown in their last league encounter.

Gresford were hammered 8-4 at Holywell in their previous league fixture and will need to defend much better against a Wingmakers attack every bit as potent as the Wellmen's.

Saturday sees the third of the unbeaten sides, Llandudno, welcome winless Penrhyncoch to Go Goodwins Stadium.

Hard to see anything other than a comfortable Seasiders victory here.

Bottom team Flint Mountain will be anxious for a first win when Ruthin Town, knocked out of the Welsh Cup by Tier 4 Llanrug United last weekend, arrive at Bastion Gardens.
Fourth hosts fifth as Newtown, just one loss in seven, entertain Denbigh Town at Latham Park.

A difficult assignment for Denbigh, especially after their dispiriting Welsh Cup loss at Porthmadog in midweek.

Town were 4-1 up in the first game at Port when heavy rain caused a 54th minute abandonment. 

Four days later, the sides shared a 2-2 draw and Tier 3 Port edged through 11-10 in a penalty shoot out where the final word rested with the respective goalkeepers.

Guilsfield should have the beating of Brickfield Rangers at Clos Mytton, third-bottom Holyhead Hotspur, still without a league win, may believe their time has come at home to Caersws, who are a place below the Holy Islanders, while the derby between Mold Alexandra and Buckley Town, could produce just about any result.

ARDAL LEAGUE NORTH CUP

It is cup action all the way for Ardal Northern teams this weekend, with East and West involved in their internal knockout competition.

On Friday night, Llangefni Town will look to transfer their fine league form into the cup when they host early Ardal North West strugglers Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

When Pen visited Cefni in the league back in August, the Anglesey side dished out an 8-0 thrashing, so the omens are not good for the Cae Sling hopefuls.

Prestatyn Town have already beaten ANW newcomers Mynydd Isa 3-1 in the league at Bastion Gardens and will target a similar outcome in the cup.

Onto Saturday, can CPD Y Felinheli gain revenge for a 4-2 home Welsh Cup defeat at the hands of Bethesda Athletic at the end of July when they visit the Ogwen Valley outfit in another knockout showdown?

In four all-East encounters, second-place Cefn Albion host lowly Llanrhaeadr, Kerry might have their hands full with visitors Knighton Town, one of just two unbeaten sides in the league, Llandrindod Wells will be out to stop the rot after back-to-back losses when they take on Corwen at The Broadway, and Llangollen Town need to end a nine-match winless run to overcome the challenge of Llanfair United at Tower Field.

Three all-North West match-ups see Llanrwst United, already 5-0 losers at CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 in the league, aim to turn the tables when the unbeaten Citizens land at Gwydir Park, Llay Welfare look a good shout to see off out-of-form St Asaph City at The Ring and NFA v Llannefydd is a real 50-50 tussle.

These teams have already met in the league at Ffordd Derwen in August and it ended 2-2.

Penycae versus Bow Street has the makings of a really close battle, Rhos Aelwyd could have the edge over visitors Builth Wells and ANE leaders Llanystumdwy will be seeking a second victory in seven days at Radnor Valley, Sion Tudor's men having won 3-1 at The Bypass in the league last weekend.

Porthmadog will be on a high after knocking Denbigh Town out of the Welsh Cup in midweek when they greet Trearddur Bay at Y Traeth. 

Port have won seven on the bounce, but lost home and away to Bay last season. However, Chris Jones' men proved on Wednesday night that previous meetings mean nothing - it is all about on the day.

The league cup action is completed on Sunday when Connah's Quay Town entertain CPD Pwllheli in what should be a tight contest.
