Jonathan Hood scored a spectacular winner before getting sent off from the dugout as Barry Town came back from behind to defeat newly promoted Penybont 2-1 on the opening night of the new Cymru Premier League season.
There were also wins for Aberystwyth Town and Bala Town while Newtown and Cefn Druids split the points.
Newcomers Penybont took a deserved lead at a wet and windy Kymco Stadium when Kane Owen fired them in front from the penalty spot early into the second-half.
The hosts had attacked with purpose in the opening period with Craig Hudson, Nathan Wood and on-loan Cardiff City striker Dan Griffiths all looking lively for Rhys Griffiths’ side, who will take heart from their debut performance in the Cymru Premier League.
Within six minutes, Barry Town were back on level terms as Kayne McLaggon opened his account for the season with a composed finish.
After receiving an excellent pass from Jordan Cotterill, McLaggon did well to work himself into a yard of space in the crowded area before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Rhys Wilson.
The equalising goal galvanised Barry Town, who had looked uncharastically lacklustre and as they began to exert more pressure on Penybont, Hood unleashed a stunning half-volley from outside of the area to secure his side the points.

The win was tarnished in the latter stages when both Hood, who had been substituted at that point, and Cotterill were both dismissed by Iwan Griffith for dissent.
Aberystwyth Town 3, Carmarthen Town 2
Marc Williams scored twice to get Aber off to a winning start over Carmarthen Town at Park Avenue.
The hosts fell behind in the 12th minute, as Liam Thomas scored from the penalty spot, before Marc Williams struck twice to put Aber in the driving seat.
Debutant Luke Boundford added a third for the Seasiders before Luke Bowen scored a late consolation.
Airbus UK 1, Bala Town 2
Airbus began life back in the Cymru Premier League with a defeat after falling 2-1 at home to Bala Town.
Veteran scoring Chris Venables put the Wingmakers to the sword with two first-half goals. Venables stepped up and scored from the spot midway through the opening frame before adding another on the stroke of half-time.
Curtis Strong pulled one back for Airbus just shy of the hour mark but the Lakesiders would hold onto their lead.
Newtown 0, Cefn Druids 0
The Robins were forced to split the points following a stalemate with Cefn Druids at Latham Park.
James Davies had a goal chalked off early on for the Ancients before striking the woodwork in the second half.
