Airbus UK Aiming for Safe Landing at top of JD Cymru North

JD Cymru North

JD Cymru North

Airbus UK Broughton can return to the JD Cymru North summit - temporarily at least - if victorious at home to Denbigh Town on Friday night.

Last season, the Wingmakers whipped Town 7-0 at home and 4-0 away, but this term Denbigh are in seventh spot and always capable of testing the best.

Buckley Town will be on a massive high after shattering Holywell Town's unbeaten record last weekend. Can Asa Hamilton's men build on that with a home success over CPD Y Rhyl 1879, defeated 3-2 at home to Flint Mountain last time out? Bucks win looks a decent call.

Bottom side Penrhyncoch will be desperate for a first win of the campaign at the 13th attempt when they host Caersws, who gained their first league success in 11 outings last weekend, seeing off Gresford Athletic 3-1.

Excitement will be in the air at the Memorial Playing Fields when Colin Caton takes charge of Ruthin Town for the first time at home to Brickfield Rangers, handy 4-1 winners against Penrhyncoch last Saturday.

Onto Saturday's action, and leaders Llandudno will target a 10th straight league win at home to Guilsfield.

The Powys visitors are on a useful streak of seven undefeated in the league themselves and are always canny opposition, but on current form it is difficult to foresee anything other than a Seasiders success.

Holyhead Hotspur will seek just a second victory of the campaign when they host a Gresford Athletic side which has just announced multiple departures from the club, including first-team manager Eddie Maurice-Jones. How will that affect Saturday's preparations?

Fourth-place Newtown can leapfrog Holywell Town in third if the Robins can overcome the Wellmen at Latham Park.

Holywell suffered a first league loss of the season at home to Buckley in their last appearance and will do well to bag a point in Powys.

Flint Mountain versus Mold Alexandra has the makings of a very close-fought local derby, with the form book slightly edging towards the Mountainmen given their recent improvement.

ARDAL NORTH LEAGUE CUP

Good battles aplenty in store when the Ardal North League Cup round of 16 ties take place on Saturday.

Cefn Albion, flying high in Ardal North East, should have the beating of basement side Lex, but the Cefners will be aware of how the Lawmen shocked Dolgellau in the last round.

Connah's Quay Town recently beat Llangefni Town 1-0 at Deeside Stadium in an Ardal North West clash. Can the Deesiders repeat the dose in the cup against a Cefni outfit now in better form?

Corwen host a Bow Street outfit which hammered them 5-0 in the league on away territory just a fortnight ago. Revenge? Far from a certainty.

Llanuwchllyn surprisingly dropped two league points at home to Llandrindod Wells last weekend, but the Ardal NE table-toppers should record a more positive result against visitors Llanfair United in the cup.

Rhos Aelwyd might find it a difficult assignment to get past Knighton Town at Ponciau Park, Trearddur Bay against Llannefydd has the makings of a great contest where a single goal could end up the winning margin, while Felinheli and Llay Welfare, who shared a 1-1 league draw at Cae Seilo last Saturday, could be equallly hard to separate at the same venue seven days later.

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Just one league fixture on Saturday, Bulth Wells hosting Dolgellau Athletic.
Seems a good candidate for a draw.

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Just three fixtures on Saturday in North West - and a trio of away wins looks a distinct possibility.

Mynydd Isa will do well to get past the challenge of visitors Llanrwst United, while NFA, who shine brightest at home, might find a test away at Pwllheli to their liking.

Bottom side St Asaph City have shown some good battling qualities of late, especially in last weekend's 3-3 draw with Llannefydd, but they will find Bethesda Athletic an equally tricky hurdle at Roe Plas Meadows.
